ONE day, ONE shoot for manfrotto’s ONE tripod

York Road Studio was built to be a truly versatile film and photography studio in Sussex, a space designed to adapt quickly to creative ideas, not slow them down.

This recent project, created by our in house creative team Foundlight Productions for Manfrotto’s ONE Hybrid tripod, is a clear example of that in practice.

Our concept was to capture a high-energy dance film across multiple distinct setups, all within a single day. That meant shifting between different looks, lighting environments, and camera perspectives at pace, without compromising the quality of the work.

In many studios, that kind of shoot creates friction. Time gets lost resetting, re-rigging, or working around physical limitations of the space.

At York Road Studio, the approach is different.

The studio is designed for fast transitions between setups, whether that’s moving from clean, controlled lighting to more textured, reactive environments, or switching from wide cinematic frames to tight, performance-led coverage. High angles, low tracking shots, vertical formats for social, all captured within the same space, with a small crew without breaking the flow of the shoot.

That flexibility is what allows productions to get more done in less time, something that’s becoming increasingly important for brands creating content across multiple formats.

For this shoot, the Manfrotto ONE Hybrid tripod played a key supporting role. Its ability to quickly adapt, from locked-off shots to slider setups, from standard framing to vertical capture, helped maintain momentum throughout the day. Small efficiencies in equipment quickly add up when you’re working across multiple setups on a tight schedule.

But more importantly, it complemented the way the studio is designed to work.

Because ultimately, versatility isn’t just about equipment, it’s about the entire environment.

York Road Studio gives directors, DOPs and creative teams the freedom to experiment, adjust and evolve ideas in real time, without the usual constraints. It’s a space built for modern production: fast-moving, multi-format, and creatively demanding.
